I see a lot of people asking questions about outsourcing in the IM business. It seems that newbies are aware of the need to outsource, but unaware of how to do it, or unsure of the methods to go about it properly. Often, they are simply scared to give up any control over their business to another person.
If you want to grow your business, it is absolutely essential to outsource. There is not a single business on the planet run, successfully, at scale, with only one person behind it.
One geographic location that you can look towards, when outsourcing, is the Philippines. The people speak and write in English, the pay scales are very favorable compared to the developed world, and the results can be very good. This is what I do, personally, and I recommend it.
When you poke around at some of the job sites in the Philippines, you’ll quickly notice that a monthly salary of $300 is pretty typical. That gets you a full time employee willing to be trained on tasks to help you make more money. Consider what you pay each month for a cell phone and some meals at restaurants. I bet it’s pretty close to $300. Worth a shot at online growth? Sure it is.
You also need to be aware that outsourcing is not a cakewalk. You can’t just expect to hire someone today and sit back, watching the cash roll in tomorrow. You will need to learn how to hire the right people, how to train them, and you’ll need to assign them the right kinds of tasks to make a solid return on investment.
Here is one example. Say you find a private affiliate program that pays out $100 for the sale of an information product. You could easily have an article writer write about this all day long, posting to blogs, directories, etc. It wouldn’t take long before these articles were bringing in several times the $300 salary.
Once you understand the keys to hiring and managing another employee, you should be able to get a return of several times your investment. It will take some time to ge there, but it’s one of the best ways to grow your income, and it is scalable.
I learned a lot about outsourcing through a system called “Replace Myself”, created by John Jonas. I picked his system because he’s done it before. I realize there are other places to learn, but whatever you decide, simply make sure you learn from others that have experience. Don’t try to figure everything out on your own.
